Maybe you’ve seen us out with this special vehicle and wondered, is it a new truck or an old truck? This amazing vehicle has captured the hearts and imaginations of everyone who has seen it either in person or online. So how did it come to be?

We find that the world of specialty vehicles is so exciting today because there is such a wide range of interests. You can enjoy meticulously restored classics, or survivors; ultra-performance modern muscle, or traditional street rods; radical customs, mild makeovers, or restomods. And in every category the vehicle in question can be a car or a truck. There’s still another very intriguing category that is rapidly gaining popularity. It’s called a revival. The premise is, what if you could have the classic look of a beloved vehicle of the past with all the modern convenience, technology, and performance of a new one? Some restomods come close to this idea, but often they fall more in the custom category.

This is a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado that has been artfully and painstakingly transformed into a 1972 C10 Revival. Chevrolet’s second generation C10 has many fans for its style and ruggedness. Now think of how the concept of a pickup truck changed between 1972 and 2018. Basic items like power steering, power brakes, and even carpeting were extra cost options on most trucks in 1972. Today, of course, nearly any comfort or convenience feature that can be had in a luxury car is available on a pickup truck. The role of these vehicles has certainly evolved.

This 2018 Chevrolet Silverado C10 revival sports its original chassis and drivetrain. In fact all of that was left fully intact by the builder, Blain’s Kustoms of Arkansas. With the actual grille, bumpers, and bed from a 1972 Chevrolet truck, this one is fully loaded with the trailering package, navigation, dual zone climate control, and Chevrolet MyLink not to mention the four-door Crew Cab. It also features the Z71 off-road 4×4 package. It’s finished with a retro two-tone orange and white color scheme with a black and white houndstooth interior. We have had a lot of fun with the truck at car shows and cruises explaining to folks what the truck is. It’s a great concept with its combination of appearance and functionality, but maybe its best asset is its uniqueness. Many people have never seen a truck like this, and that makes it a jaw-dropping attention grabber at any event.
