It’s powered by a 24-stud Flathead V8 with added breathing capacity from an electric fuel pump to ingest the mixture and a set of tube headers and a dual exhaust system to expel the byproducts. The 3-speed manual transmission is operated via a floor shifter with a very nice walnut shifter ball featuring the Ford blue oval logo. The interior is exceptionally well-laid-out and comfortable, with plush cloth seats in blue with gray trim. The dash presents as original, which is a very good thing because this one is laid out nicely with an oil pressure gauge, temp, amps, and even a trip odometer. An auxiliary water gauge was added to monitor the all-important coolant temperature. An electric wiper motor is another nice convenience, while turn signals and seat belts add to the car’s driveability as well as safety. The vintage appearance is well-preserved thanks to the two-tone blue and black paint scheme. The bumpers, grille, and lights are in great shape, and the rear is highlighted by an impressive spare tire cover. The original steel artillery wheels are also in black and sport chrome “V8” hubcaps. Authentic Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewalls are the perfect choice to finish the car.
