Vehicle Description

Is this Scrap Iron or a Dream Truck?  Actually it is “Scrap Iron,” a dream truck from the fertile imagination of a 15 year old boy.  This vehicle is quite a story. A 15 year old boy drew a sketch of his dream truck, then almost 50 years later, he oversaw the completion of this one-of-a-kind, show-winning street rod.  The modifications and intensive loving labor that went into the vehicle could fill a book, so indeed a big three-ring binder with dozens of color photos document every major step. Suffice it to say that all the body panels are either hand formed or highly modified.  There are more than one hundred body mods and in excess of 135 overall modifications made to the original Ford truck. Chassis and suspension components were narrowed or otherwise massaged for a factory fit. Traditional changes such as a chopped top are only the beginning.  An entire custom back half was hand formed from 20 Gauge steel. The TPI 350 provides plenty of power but, before it could take its place in the engine bay, the block and the transmission case were smoothed before painting. The builders’ extreme attention to detail extends to fastener heads that are clocked (oriented in the same direction) unless safety was compromised.  Prestigious awards from events of the caliber of the Detroit Autorama and the California Autorama, plus exposure in national magazines testify to the superior quality of this true labor of love.
