MAXMotive of Boca Raton is excited to present this Awesome 1965 Cobra 427 SC Replica for Sale.This example is one of only 106 recreations of this iconic sports car hand built by Ron Butler, former crew chief and head mechanic for Carroll Shelby Racing back in the 60’s. Ron broke away from Carroll and made a short run of Cobras formed from the original molds, dyes and tooling before he was sued and shut down. This pristine vehicle only shows approx. 15060 miles on the odometer since new. The car sports an ORIGINAL 1965 427 FE Side Oiler power plant with 10.5-1 compression ratio turning out a mind blowing 560 horsepower to the rear wheels. This particular car had the engine hand built by none other than Art Chrisman, a former NHRA drag racer and SEMA award winning engine builder. The engine was torn apart and rebuilt in 2019/2020 by Mike Chrisman (Art’s son) and the clutch was replaced by Ron Butler at the same time.
The fit and finish is exceptional on these cars unlike kit cars …Ron was a perfectionist. This Cobra was put together correctly with an original 4 speed Ford toploader transmission and an original and time correct Jag rear end. Bilstein quad coilovers make the suspension fully adjustable and power is put to the ground through Original Halibrand polished wheels on Pirelli P Zero Tires. Moving inside the cockpit you have original NOS Stewart Warner Gauges and a stainless fire extinguisher topped off by black leather seats with red piping.
