Vehicle Description

In the world of hot collector vehicles, few can match the Type 2 Volkswagens for excitement and value. These have become some of the most desirable vehicles on the current scene. Here we have a jaw-dropping 1967 Double Cab Transporter that is simply amazing in every detail. The colors are Sealing Wax Red with a tastefully contrasting Classic Deluxe Chestnut Brown – correct VW colors. Recently restored, every detail from window frames to brightwork to trim has been addressed. The windshield frames are new stainless Safari windows. They The odometer indicates a mere 250 miles since the restoration. That’s just enough to ensure all is well. Fit and finish is outstanding. The doors operate as new, and all those bed doors open and close freely. The side panels of the bed are like the tailgate. They open to create a flatbed truck for extra bulky cargo. Mechanically, this vehicle is like new with a freshly rebuilt 1600cc engine. An MSD ignition box testifies to the thoroughness of the build, as this is an upgrade for quick starts and dependable service. It also helps provide the power to work better with the transmission set up. The transmission is also fresh. It’s a T3 Freeway Flyer for quieter highway driving and higher top speed. Of course, the first thing that catches your eye is that fabulous paint combination. To compliment those great colors, there’s new Grumpy’s Metal deluxe trim all around including the rocker moldings, and a Sealing Wax Red trim insert for the finishing detail. Stainless steel polished bumpers are another practical upgrade, yet they are the correct style for a 1967 VW. Open the doors and you will be treated to the same high standards. Dark brown upholstery with dark chocolate brown piping complements the exterior so well, it goes beyond vintage and into designer territory. The original seat frames were sandblasted and black powder coated. Brown and beige colors continue into the door panels and kick panels with new chrome moldings. All the glass is original but the rubber and weatherseal is new. Also new are such items as the steering wheel, dashboard knobs, chrome ashtray, horn button, and wiper arms (with a safari pivot for opening the safari windows). No detail was left unattended. But the big stuff is handled too. All the electrical systems are in working order. There are new headlights, driving lights, stop lights, emergency lights, interior dome lights, a new battery, new ignition switch, and new starter. Your drive is the best it can be with a completely refurbished suspension including new flip spindles, steering damper, tie rods, king pins and link pins, and four new shocks. Yes, Volkswagens have always had many followers, and they are hotter than ever. If you’re an aficionado, you’ll appreciate the time, the care, and the workmanship in this spectacular restoration. But even if you’re not yet a fan, take a close look. You might just catch the bug!
