A true standout in both performance and appearance, this 1972 Chevrolet Malibu SS454 Tribute is now available from the MaxMotive Pittsburgh Showroom. This one’s a serious performer with a 1969 427ci V8 engine under the fully functional Cowl Induction hood. The motor is .030 over for 447 cubic inches, and is fed by a 1000cfm Demon carburetor. MSD Ignition lights the mixture; and the exhaust exits through Hooker Competition Plus Headers, a pair of big 3-inch pipes with H-pipe, and Flowmaster mufflers. The sound is fabulous, and so is the launch. A Turbo 400 automatic transmits the torque to a 12-bolt rear with 4.10 gears. The paint has a deep shine and is the original Mohave Gold color with black painted-on SS stripes. The body is nice and straight. The interior is very nice as well. The original Rally dash sports a fully functional tach and running clock. A center console with floor shifter runs between the black vinyl bucket seats. Overhead is the original black headliner. The car is well-equipped too. It features air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, rear defogger and a functioning factory 8-track player. There are even some tapes in the glove box. It rolls on new Mickey Thompson radials with the iconic Cragar S/S mags. This one’s a fine example built with the best components and tuned professionally.
