2017 Lamborghini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador SV – which stands for SuperVeloce, or super-fast was launched in roadster form for the 2016 model year with a production run of only 500 units worldwide. It receives the same carbon-fiber weight saving treatment as the SV coupe, dropping its weight to 3,472 pounds, a reduction of 110 lbs over the standard Aventador Roadster. Its downforce has been dramatically improved by the addition of a fixed rear wing, optimized diffuser, and new front splitter. It features a two-piece carbon-fiber folding hardtop that can be stowed in the front trunk compartment. The same 6.5 liter V12 used in the standard Aventador lurks below the louvered glass engine cover, backed by a 7 speed single clutch ISR Transmission capable of 50 millisecond shifts. The SV model gains an extra 49 hp thanks to a revised exhaust system, valve timing, and intakes. The total horsepower climbs to 740 at a screaming 8,400 rpm, but torque remains the same at 507 lb-ft. A Haldex Generation IV 4WD system helps take advantage of all that power. For suspension the car features an adaptive magnetic damping pushrod suspension that can be adjusted from a smooth touring ride, to a stiff race acclimated setting. To bring everything to a stop the car utilizes a set of giant carbon-ceramic brakes that nestle behind the 20” front and 21” rear wheels respectively lined with matching P255/30ZR20 & P355/25ZR21 tires. Add all that up and you get the recipe for a car that grips harder, and pulls more G-force than most will be able to handle, with a blistering top speed of 217 mph. From the door panels to the dash, the interior surrounds you with carbon-fiber and Alcantara at a level of craftsmanship that you would expect is reserved for only the top echelon of bespoke vehicles. The race style carbon backed sport buckets offer a surprising level of comfort while still offering enough support to keep you in place on those tight turns.
