Maxmotive is excited to present this highly original unrestored 1979 Ford Mustang Pace Car. During the 1970s, there wasn’t much for Mustang performance fans to brag about. But in 1979, Ford kick-started the future Fox-body boom with a special midyear model that commemorated the Mustang’s selection as the official pace car for the Indianapolis 500. To take advantage of the honor, Ford introduced a run of Indy Pace Car editions, each matching the actual pace car with Pewter Metallic paint, black lower body treatment and orange, red and black graphics. Only 10,487 were built, including 5,970 with the turbocharged 4-cylinder just like this unrestored example with only 42,860 miles. Highly original, the low-mileage Indy Pace Car still has its original paint, pace car graphics, interior and 4-speed transmission, as well as a believed to be matching-numbers 2.3L turbo engine.
Showing what could be done with the Mustang’s new Fox-body platform, Ford updated the pace car with a large air dam with driving lights, a hood with non-functional cowl scoop, and a rear spoiler, all of which would find their way onto future Mustangs. Ford also upgraded the interior to include Recaro bucket seats with mesh headrests, and black and white, patterned, cloth upholstery.
The car has been recently serviced and the carburetor and turbo induction system have been rebuilt, and reproduction Michelin TRX-spec tires were installed in 2021. Documentation includes the original window sticker, Deluxe Marti Report, build sheet and receipts. See more pictures of this beauty at Maxmotive.com

We are excited to offer this numbers matching 383-powered 1970 Plymouth Road Runner in our MaxMotive Pittsburgh Showroom. The High Performance Road Runner Engine is one to be reckoned with. It brings the heads, cam, low-restriction exhaust manifolds, and oil pan windage tray of the 440 plus heavy duty valve springs. Its 335 horsepower rating equals that of Ford’s vaunted 428 Cobra Jet. Teamed with the Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission, it’s a formidable combination. The Road Runner also gets heavy duty shocks and heavy duty 11-inch power assisted drum brakes. Drums are preferred over discs by drag racers by the way. The car is exceptionally clean in and out, top to bottom thanks to a thorough restoration. It was refinished in its original EV2 Tor-Red exterior paint. The same color code is called Hemi Orange on a Dodge. The hood is accented with black stripes, and the famous dust trail striping adorns the sides. The body panels are all original too. The black vinyl interior features bench seats with white piping along with the handsome and functional Rallye dash complete with a Tic Toc Tach. This Beeper allows you to travel in comfort with air conditioning and power steering. And as if to complete the look of a true icon, the car rides on 15-inch rallye wheels with white-letter Goodrich radials. A decklid mounted wing tops it off. This outstanding 1970 Plymouth Road Runner was added to our inventory by popular demand, so here’s your chance to own a real muscle car legend. See detailed photos at www.maxmotive.com.
Now in the MaxMotive Showroom is this award-winning 1975 Pontiac GrandVille Brougham Convertible with just 1606 original miles. But the mileage is just a part of the story of this amazing Pontiac. MaxMotive is the third owner and we just acquired the vehicle in 2022. The second owner purchased it from the original buyer, who kept it in his care until 2018. Both previous owners stored the car in temperature and humidity-controlled garages, off the concrete floor on carpet covered wood. The pristine white convertible top has never been in the down position. Naturally, it sports the original, numbers-matching 455 cubic inch V8 engine mated to the original Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and Saf-T-Track differential. The original Roman Red exterior paint gleams and is smooth to the touch, augmented with painted white pin stripes. The lights, grille, trim, and bumpers are spectacular. Inside, beautiful white seats complement the top. A lavishly equipped top-of-the-line car, it came equipped with factory air conditioning, power windows and locks, tilt steering wheel, power steering, power front disc brakes, cornering lights, Soft Ray tinted windows, and Rally II wheels with center caps and trim rings. It also pampered its passengers with 6-way power seats and an AM/FM/8-track stereo. This is such an outstanding example that the Antique Automobile Club of America awarded it their Senior National First Price in 2007. Yet, the car has received more care than just being stored. Recent service includes new motor oil and filter, the original radiator was re-cored, a new heater core, new hoses and thermostat, new Delco (of course) battery, and four new Hankook whitewall radial tires. It comes with the original Owners Manual and owner’s package. This unique 1975 Pontiac GrandVille Brougham Convertible is truly a survivor, one-of-a-kind, has to be seen to be believed, all the sayings apply! So see the detailed photos at www.maxmotive.com
