This amazingly well-preserved 1962 Ford Thunderbird Landau Coupe is now available from the MaxMotive Pittsburgh Showroom. It features the smooth and torquey 390 cubic in 4-barrel V8 engine coupled with Ford’s reliable and silky Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The car sports its original color exterior paint, the elegant Corinthian White. The Landau package brought the luxurious padded white vinyl roof with chrome landau bars and Thunderbird emblems, one of the first luxury car models to feature a vinyl top. This example is equipped with power steering, power brakes, and power windows. The interior of the T-bird is highly designed with a wrap around curved dash with a horizontal ribbed aluminum panel. There’s also a prominent center console with storage between the bucket seats. The interior is done in a very nostalgic silver blue metallic vinyl. The wheel covers are the original turbine style with wide whitewalls to complete the vintage look. It has a spacious trunk complete with a spare tire. This is indeed a highly original and carefully maintained example of Ford’s personal luxury classic. Built at the Wixom Assembly Plant in March of 1962, from its “bullet” nose to its afterburner tail lights, this 1962 Ford Thunderbird Landau Coupe is poised for many more years of cruising fun fun fun.
