Vehicle Description

The vehicle, a bespoke masterpiece crafted for David Maxwell by Kindig Designs, is a testament to modern engineering and aesthetic brilliance. Externally, it presents an avant-garde silhouette finished in “Infrared,” a captivating color developed by Modern Classikk by Kindig, powered by AkzoNobel. This striking hue is elegantly accented by “Sagebrushed,” adding a layer of sophistication to its appearance.

At its heart, the vehicle boasts an all-aluminum 9.2L V12LS engine, a naturally aspirated powerhouse custom built by Race Cast Engineering. This exceptional engine is coupled with a C7 GM 8L90E 8-speed automatic transmission, ensuring seamless power delivery and unmatched performance.

The exhaust system is a work of art, handbuilt with stainless steel headers arranged in a unique 3 into 2, 2 into 1 collector configuration. The custom swept 4″ exhaust is meticulously designed to complement the vehicle’s underbody lines, featuring slipfit joints and an integrated muffler, ensuring a sound as captivating as its appearance.

The unibody is handcrafted from 30030 and 6061 Aluminum, based loosely on an early conceptual design for the “Corvair.” This choice of materials not only reduces weight but also enhances the vehicle’s performance and handling. The suspension is inspired by Indy car technology, featuring a single lateral coilover cantilever pushrod design, which contributes to its exceptional ride quality and agility.

Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary of luxury, outfitted with “Sienna” leather by JS Custom Interiors. The interior boasts a 3D printed dash, console, and inserts, all bathed in ambient lighting, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and cutting-edge technology. The vehicle is equipped with a Haltec Nexus VCU and CAN Bus wiring, underscoring its modernity and advanced functionalities.

The wheels are a one-off design by Dave Kindig, sized 20×8 inches at the front and 21×12 inches at the rear, machined by EVOD. They are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, with dimensions of 345/30R20 at the front and 345/25R21 at the rear, ensuring superior grip and handling. The braking system features Wilwood Aero6 R front and Aero4 rear calipers, custom brake hats, and hand-polished stainless steel drilled slot rotors, combining aesthetics with performance.

This vehicle is not just a car; it is a statement of luxury, performance, and unparalleled craftsmanship, tailored specifically for David Maxwell by the visionary minds at Kindig Designs. Its excellence has been recognized and celebrated through prestigious accolades, including winning the 2024 Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama and the 2024 Legend Cup at the World of Wheels Chicago, affirming its status as a remarkable and award-winning creation.
