Vehicle Description

The Shelby Cobra is one of the world’s most famous and recognizable sports cars. Like Carroll Shelby himself, the car is a true icon in the world of high performance. It spawned other great nameplates like the Shelby GT500, Torino Cobra, and the 428 Cobra Jet engine. This CSX4000 Series 427 S/C from Shelby Automobiles Inc. is everything the 1965 models were, and more. The authenticity is documented by Shelby CSX numbers and a manufacturer’s statement of origin (MSO) from Shelby Automobiles. Improvements include a stronger steel frame and better alloys used in the components, plus better cooling and additional heat shielding to make the car safer and more driveable without losing any of its original character. This 1965 Shelby Cobra SC is one of fifty 50th Anniversary Editions. It’s one of 29 with an aluminum body, and one of only three that were painted. The stripes harken back to Carroll Shelby’s history at LeMans. The aluminum block 427 is the product of the combined efforts of Shelby Motor Company and Roush-Yates. With it comes a complete dyno sheet documenting the brutal output of the engine at near 600 horsepower. There’s also a build book showing you exactly how the car was built and how it’s equipped, fascinating and enjoyable reading for sure.
