A special survivor, this low-mileage, matching numbers 1972 Chevrolet Nova SS is now available from the MAXmotive Pittsburgh Showroom. It has its original, numbers matching L48 350 4-barrel V8 engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. Believed to be just 8545 actual miles, it proudly wears its original Placer Gold paint with a black vinyl roof and black vinyl bucket seat interior. A father and son purchased the car at Bill Gatton Chevrolet in Bristol, Tennessee in November of 1971. After the untimely passing of the son, the family kept the vehicle safe in their barn for almost 48 years. So while the exterior shows some patina, the doors, hood, and trunk lid open and close like new, lights and wipers work; and the interior, dash, headliner, and even the steering wheel show minimal wear. The Nova has received some TLC, and the engine was disassembled, checked, and reassembled using many of the original parts. Some parts that were not reinstalled are still with the car including the water pump, timing chain and sprocket, and even the spark plugs. Installation of a new master cylinder and a new dual exhaust system complete with Magnaflow mufflers assure that the car is ready to drive. Power steering and power front disc brakes are original equipment. This rare and highly desirable find is documented with its original Protect-O-Plate, the original sales invoice, and the complete owner’s package that includes the original 1972 Chevrolet Nova Owner’s Manual. Of course, those staggered 215 and 235/70R15 Goodrich radials are newer tires, mounted on SS Rally wheels. But all five original wheels come with the car plus three Firestone Wide Oval tires. This 1972 Chevrolet Nova SS presents a unique opportunity to acquire an original classic muscle car that has been driven very little yet has been well taken care of. *MAXmotive specializes in collectible classic and custom vehicles. We have more than 200 vehicles in our collection and have sold dozens nationwide and even overseas. We recommend that all buyers who are unable to view a vehicle in person have a pre-purchase inspection done prior to purchase. Inspections can be performed by an independent party selected by the buyer. Due to the age and uniqueness of these special vehicles, it is difficult to cover all aspects and characteristics of each vehicle’s condition within the limited space available. Thus, pre-purchase inspections are helpful to all parties involved. The information provided for this vehicle is presented to the best of our knowledge, and is deemed reliable. But MAXmotive does not warrant or guarantee this information as a basis for purchase. It is the responsibility of the buyer to make a thorough inspection to determine the suitability of the vehicle prior to purchase.
