It comes with the GNX jacket, the GNX Factory Overview Hardcover Book, and the complete original owner’s package including the GNX 1987 Owner’s Manual Supplement. It’s had just 3 owners since new, the last two being father and son. They carefully maintained the car and the important collectible items that go with it. 245/50ZR16 and 255/50ZR16 Goodyear Eagle HP performance tires are mounted on the special lightweight alloy GNX wheels with a specific offset for both the front and rear wheels. The original Goodyear Gatorback tires are included as well.
To the already fast and desirable Grand National, the GNX adds a special turbocharger and intercooler, recalibrated engine management system, low restriction exhaust, and an extra transmission oil cooler. The rear suspension of the GNX has been redesigned to control the added engine output with a ladder bar which attaches to a special rear axle cover and a unique welded in crossmember. The GNX uses a special aluminum rear axle cover with the GNX logo cast into it. The axle is a modified Grand National 8.5 inch assembly with a limited slip differential and a 3.42:1 gear ratio. The thoroughness of the engineering for the GNX is demonstrated in such details as aluminum brake drums and aluminum bumper reinforcements, an added brace behind the back seat for added body structure rigidity, and more obvious upgrades such as a complete Stewart-Warner gauge package.
