My favorite Vehicle – 1947 Dodge Restomod Pickup

When you are making a decision between two choices, isn’t it better to have both? Hey, why not have it all? I have logged a ton of miles as an over the road trucker and even had my own trucking company at one point. I’ve loved cars since I was a kid sharing many great memories with my dad and brother. And with that, I always had a soft spot in my heart for trucks. The latest trend in custom classic trucks, especially ones with lots of horsepower, is the perfect combination. That’s why I, along with many other folks who’ve seen it, love this 1947 Dodge pickup. It’s a restomod! That means it has a drivetrain from a modern Dodge SRT. The engine is a 6.1 liter Hemi with 425 horsepower (more than 4 times the power of the original) and the transmission is the W5A580 5-speed automatic. It just so happens that 425 is the exact horsepower of the famous 426 Hemi, so the Dodge heritage is all over this truck. The Burgundy and black paint colors are just like the original, but compared to a stock ’47 Dodge, it sits much lower, giving it a mean look. And it’s comfortable too. With leather bucket seats, you can settle in and really rack up the miles. That’s what trucking is all about! The classic body and things like the grille, headlights, and taillights are all here, preserving the classic look. The bed and tailgate are the way they were back in the day. The bed even has a tough rubberized mat on the bed floor. It protects the bed floor and makes it so you can actually haul stuff. After all, this is a truck! I love classic trucks and I love high performance vehicles. That is why this truck is so special, because it’s both!
